Ágúst ”Gústi” Bjarklind is an icelandic illustrator and has worked mainly in the field of character design, graphic and prints.
His distinctive style is a combination of raw materials, such as inks and paint, combined with the use of digital media.
Growing up in Iceland´s capital, Reykjavík, Gústi spent a large part of his childhood testing his parents patience by drawing on the walls of their living room, along with taking artistic liberty on various other surfaces such as books, tables, mirrors and so on…
After studying industry design in his home country, Gústi headed to Denmark where he studied illustration and multimedia design. He currently resides and works in Copenhagen.
Whenever he is not covered in inks and paper (and soaked in disturbing amounts of coffee), Gústi likes to spend time with his friends and family, reading books, watching movies, traveling to strange countries whenever the opportunity arises, exploring the ever expanding world of beer and listening to tons of music.
He is also an avid fan of cookies and silverback gorillas…
Gústi is a regular contributor to Future Navigator projects and has most recently finished doing illustrations for the book “The Future Navigator”.
